Where is this energy coming from? Last night, my last batch of marshmallow's were done at 11:15 p.m. It must be anticipation and excitment. If sleep weren't necessary, and fatigue and exhaustion weren't an issue, I would probably go 24/7 until the flesh and bones of this business were 100 percent in tact. This period of time in my adventure in all things yummy reminds me of when my daughter was born, I was running on less than 2 hours of sleep, completely on faith and intuition at times. It was a blurry fuzzy time in the beggining, but somehow we did it. There were times when I wasn't sure what I was doing, but I knew it was wonderful, precious, fleeting and worth all the sleepless nights and just the beginning of the rest of my life. I wouldn't trade those days for anything, just like now. Only my baby is my business now.
I am picking up speed every day and gaining momentum. I have made some good contacts, and by the end of the week, will have met with some people that will help my baby grow into the next phase quickly. I am so ready! My dream is coming to life, and I am almost waiting for someone to wake me up and tell me this was just, well just that, a dream. But I am sending out all my postive thoughts and energy in to the mystic hoping to get people as excited about my treat's as I am!! I have never been more grateful and humble in my life. I wake each day in awe that I have been given the priveledge to do what I love. Making people happy through food has been my joy and priviledge since the moment I discoered it was a gift that I was given responsible to give back!
So lots to be done today. The usual baking and frosting, sealing and selling!! Final touches to my website and lot's of phone calls. Thank goodness for bluetooths!! You have made my multitasking that much easier, I want to thank you publically for your hands free dialing as well.
Seem's these day's I get a lot of looks of bewilderment at the grocery store. People can't seem to figure out why in the world I need 12 bags of confectioners sugar and 4 packages of 18 count large eggs. I was at Costco and bought 3 large bottles of Vanilla Extract. The lady that was ringing me up asked me, What are you making with so much Vanilla Extract? I simply replied, "Cupcakes." Still confused, she handed me my change. It's quite entertaining.
Last night I made chocolate ganache and dipped long pretzel rods to make chocolate dipped pretzels. YUMMY!! The only thing better than sweets, is something that is salty and sweet at the same time. After being halfway through the Ganache, it seemed only appropraite to make Peanut Butter Chocolate Dipped Preztels. One word: SUPERCALIFRAGILISTICEXPEALIDOCIOUS. That was the only word that could do those little gems justice.
So I am off to bake and barter. Make yours a super scrumptious day!
